Trust Fall –3.5/5 ✩
Trust Fall is Lynn Painter’s newest YA sensation. It follows Julia, a small-town-girl adjusting to the elite lifestyle of the Upper West Side, and Damion, a mysterious classmate who has a vendetta against Julia’s family. Naturally, as the pair clash, they also manage to fall in love.
Lynn Painter truly never disappoints. I loved the setting of this book, I loved the dual POV, and I absolutely adored Damion! He has a rough exterior, but he is kind, he is respectful, he is loving, and he shows up and holds himself accountable for his actions. If anyone knows how to write men – YA or adult – it’s Lynn Painter!
The chemistry between Julia and Damion is unmatched and Lynn manages to seamlessly weave such poignant themes –like love, mental health, bullying, and standing up for yourself and the people you leave – into her narrative.
Thank you to Simon and Schuster Children’s Publishing for the arc via NetGalley!
